Ingredients

Adjust Servings:
8 Bread Slices
1 big Onion (Finely diced)
1 Tomato (Finely diced)
1 Capsicum (Finely diced)
2 tbsp Coriander (Kothmir) (Finely chopped)
6-8 Curry Leaves (Kadi Patta)
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1/2 tsp Brown Mustard Seeds (Rai dana)
1/2 tsp Cumin seeds (Zeera)
3/4 tsp Red Chilli Powder
1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder (Haldi powder)
1/2 tsp Sambhar Masala
1 tsp Tomato Ketchup
Salt (To taste)
2 tbsp Oil

    Who doesn’t like upma, but its kind of difficult to get the correct consistency while making it with rava and most often we get it wrong so fret not here is a very easy and quick variant to your regular upma made using bread. This delicious and tangy upma recipe will surely keep you asking for more!

    In a mixer Jar grind 8 slices of brown or white bread to a crumbly powder.

    Heat 2 tbsp oil in a deep bottomed pan and add mustard seeds, cumin and curry leaves. Let them pop and sizzle for a min.

    Add onion, tomato and capsicum. Mix well.

    Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, sambhar masala and salt. Mix well and saute the veggies until tender.

    Add tomato ketchup and mix well. Add the ground bread slices and mix well.

    Drizzle the juice of 1/2 a lemon and finely chopped coriander and mix thoroughly. Cook for 2 mins on medium flame.

    Garnish with coriander and serve hot!
